About this beta

By installing your trial copy of ClusterSync, you agree to these terms. ClusterSync is a cross-server tribe sync plugin for ARK: Survival Ascended, offered by Romoslayer through romoslayer.com.

This is a closed beta, run as a free trial to stress-test and harden the plugin. ClusterSync has been tested on Romoslayer’s own servers, but it is not bug-proof or fully stable.

Your trial licence

  • Free trials are self-service: sign in to romoslayer.com and start your trial there. You manage your licence there too.
  • Starting a trial needs a Discord account with a verified email address.
  • One free trial per website account.
  • A trial lasts 30 days from the day it starts, then ends automatically (see When the trial ends).
  • Each trial licence covers up to 7 maps running at once. A stopped map frees its place about 3 hours later, or straight away if you release it on your licence page.
  • Every trial user downloads the same copy of the plugin from the website. Your licence key is what lets it sync, so keep the key private.
  • The trial is free. Romoslayer does not ask for payment details during the beta.

When the trial ends

The free trial is temporary and can end at any time. Romoslayer will give notice before it ends, and a short grace period after.

  1. Your trial’s end date is set when it starts, 30 days later, and shows on your licence page. Each map posts a reminder 7 days and 1 day before it, in its server log and to your Discord alert webhook if you set one.
  2. After the end date, ClusterSync keeps syncing for 3 more days of grace.
  3. After the grace period, each map stops syncing the next time it restarts. A running map is never stopped mid-session.

When syncing stops, your servers keep running as normal ARK. Your world saves and your database are not deleted. Changes made while maps are not syncing may be undone if syncing is turned back on later.

Continuing after the beta may require a paid licence. Romoslayer may end a trial straight away, without the grace period, if these terms are broken.

Requirements

  • ARK: Survival Ascended dedicated servers running AsaApi 2.03 or newer
  • A MySQL database every map can reach
  • The same -clusterid= launch argument on every map
  • Internet access from each map to the licence server

Setup instructions and documentation are in the ClusterSync documentation.

Your data and privacy

Your players’ and tribes’ data stays in your own database. Romoslayer never receives it.

The licence check sends only your licence key and, for each map, an ID made from your cluster ID, the map’s tag and a random install number. Like any internet request, it also reaches the licence server from your server’s IP address. The website’s privacy policy covers your account.

If you ask for help, Romoslayer may switch on detailed logging for your licence for a limited time. Those logs stay on your servers unless you choose to send them.

Before you install

  • Back up your world saves AND your database first, and keep backups throughout the beta.
  • ClusterSync is NOT officially supported on clusters that already exist. It is built for fresh clusters and may cause unforeseen issues on a cluster that already has players or tribes. Installing it on an existing cluster is at your own risk.
  • You are responsible for your servers, your database and your backups. When something outside the plugin fails (your database, your network, your server host), ClusterSync tells you and waits; fixing it is up to you.

What you may and may not do

You may run your copy on your own servers, within your licence’s map limit, for the length of the trial.

You may not:

  • share, sell or give away your copy or your licence key
  • modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the plugin, or try to get around its licence check
  • use it to break ARK’s or your host’s terms

ClusterSync remains Romoslayer’s property; the trial gives you permission to use it, not ownership.

Reporting problems and feedback

If something goes wrong, tell Romoslayer:

  1. what happened, and on which map
  2. when it happened (date, time and your time zone)
  3. your server log for that map (the ArkApi log from the server’s logs folder)

Remove passwords, keys and webhook addresses from anything you send. Suggestions and input are always welcome.

No warranty

The beta is provided as-is, free of charge, with no warranty of any kind. Romoslayer does not promise that it will work without errors, suit your cluster, or keep your data safe.

To the extent the law allows, Romoslayer is not responsible for any loss or damage from using the beta, including lost world data, lost database data, server downtime or player disputes. That is why backups come first.

Changes to these terms

Romoslayer may update these terms during the beta and will post the changes on romoslayer.com. Continuing to use your trial copy after a change means you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, uninstall ClusterSync; your servers keep running as normal ARK.
