Capabilities

What it does

Moving between maps has one weak spot: if the server crashes soon after a player arrives, that player can come back to the character creator. TransferGuard keeps several recent versions of every player's cluster data, so the real character, items included, can be restored rather than rebuilt by hand.

After an unexpected shutdown it also reports which players may have been affected, so the right backup is easy to find. Backups run in the background and change nothing in the game.

Several recent versions of each player's cluster data are kept, so there is always one from before the loss.

The Real Character

A backup holds the character itself — level, engrams, appearance and carried items — not an approximation.

At-Risk Report

After an unexpected shutdown, the log names the players who may need a restore.

Hands Off the Game

Backups run in the background and never change anything in the game.

Choose how many versions to keep for each player and how often to check for changes.
