BedCooldownQoL
Overview
What BedCooldownQoL changes, and what it leaves alone.
Beds placed close together share one icon on the spawn map. Choosing that icon can land on a bed that is still on cooldown, even when the bed beside it is ready, and the player is sent back to the spawn screen.
BedCooldownQoL spawns them at the nearest ready bed of the same tribe instead, and tells them in chat which bed they were moved to.
Where it applies
- Death respawns.
- Bed-to-bed fast travel. Only the destination is ever changed, never the bed the player is lying on.
- Characters arriving from another server, by travel or by downloading at an obelisk, transmitter or terminal.
Two tribemates picking the same bed at once are covered too: the second player is moved to the next ready bed instead of a random spawn point.
What stays the same
- If the chosen bed is ready, nothing changes.
- If the player can't use the chosen bed for any reason other than its cooldown, the game refuses it exactly as before.
- Players are only ever moved to a bed they could have chosen themselves.
Which beds count
Beds, bunk beds, Tek sleeping pods and modded beds based on the game's bed. Only beds belonging to the same tribe as the chosen bed are used; an ally's beds never are. Sleeping bags are skipped unless you allow them, because spawning uses one up.
